Our children at 65 ELC Daycare recently took part in a fun and educational **Kitchen Activity Day**. This hands-on experience introduced them to basic cooking skills, food safety, and healthy eating in a playful and age-appropriate way.
The children learned the names of kitchen tools, how to wash hands before cooking, and how to prepare simple foods such as sandwiches, fruit salads, and healthy snacks. They also explored textures, smells, and colours of different ingredients.
Through mixing, pouring, spreading, and decorating, the activity supported fine motor development, coordination, teamwork, and listening skills. Most importantly, the children enjoyed working together and feeling proud of the food they prepared.
Kitchen activities help build independence, confidence, and healthy habits from an early age. At 65 ELC Daycare, learning happens through real-life experiences that are safe, engaging, and meaningful.
